Reliability: Single-Pass Lasers versus Single-Pass LEDS
Hi. Which technology would offer the better reliabilty? Would one of
the approaches be superior when duplexing? Is one approach to printing quieter than the other? Thanks for any replies. |

Hi Dave,
Thank you for the informative reply - it most certainly helps. -Sam Dave wrote: On 12 Jan 2005 11:23:28 -0800, in comp.periphs.printers, wrote: Hi. Which technology would offer the better reliabilty? LEDs *might* be more reliable than lasers in the long term but I doubt there's much if any difference. As to the rest of your points, the method of getting the image on the drum is *only* thing different between LED and Laser printers. The rest of the process is down the engine and could be the same or different depedant on the manufacture. eg duplexing is a mechanical operation independant of the laser/LED choice. HTH Dave -- is a valid reply-to address but I don't check it every day. |
