XP Pro install P650, odd problem
I've just had a problem which you may find interesting and useful to know.
On doing a reload of an Asus A8V Deluxe with the P650, all was well until the final load into "full" windows when "no signal" appeared on the Viewsonic XP171b TFT screen. Thinking I may have done something stupid, i reloaded XP Pro again with the same result. Put another graphics card in, all well, DVI o/p OK and picked up. Matrox support said the P650 was losing the P&P monitor on final boot, to disconnect with initial booting and re-connect when booting finish. This no good either. Connected a CRT screen, fine, and refresh at 60 Hz. Loaded the P650 drivers via the CRT changed to P650, no signal, including a reboot. Loaded the TFT monitor .inf file via the CRT rebooted with the P650, it worked! Normally, P&P monitor settings are OK for most things. Interestingly, when going to dual display, the second Viewsonic monitor wouldn't display until its .inf file loaded. Never had this before. John Please remove "NOSPAM" if sending email. |
