Default Icons In Win 95

On my Gateway P5-90 (yes, still running) with Win95a, I was copying something
over my home router to another computer, and the desktop went blank. Then the
desktop icons were rearranged to the auto arrange layout. While auto arrange is
not actually checked, whenever I reboot, the icons return to that layout. I use
Ezdesk to restore them to my custom layout. Is there some setting in windows
that will preserve my desktop icon layout every time I reboot.

Thanks!
Scott
