Default Lexmark Problem with XP

My parents just got a new computer with Win XP, and I downloaded an XP
driver for their printer, a Lexmark 1100 inkjet, but now the printing comes
out blurred and unreadable. I reattached the printer to the old Win 98
computer, and it still works ok there, so I guess it's a Win XP driver
problem. I got the driver from the Lexmark website.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Did you go through the calibration procedure? Should be in the same place
where you do print head cleaning or change ink cartridges.

Go to the Lexmark Solution Center which should have been loaded with the
download and run the alignment program. If that don't work, you might have
to either reinstall it or download and install it again. Also, double check
and make sure it was the correct one that you downloaded.

Could it be some printer settings (not the driver)?
