Default Camera Wizard? lost task option

WHen I plug in my Sony camera, I no longer get the
camera wizard, but rather the directory of the
camera memory.

How do I get the wizard back?

I believe I lost it when it came up and took over
characters from the window I was typing in.

Windows XP Home, Inspiron 1200, I should add.

It's just that there were no pictures stored on the camera.
Evidently in that case it doesn't run the wizard.

That's one really smart wizard ya got there, if it does not run when
there are no photos.

O, if there could be other smart wizards in the world of Windows, life
would be better for all of us. Many of the Windows wizards are not even
close to deserving the name, and some of them provoke a gag reflex when
they run... Ben Myers

Ron,

I have a memory card reader, that will read photos from most any type of
digital camera?

I open the camera take out the memory stick and place it into the card
reader, then the photos are there for coping, moving or viewing as if I
was opening a folder on the hard drive...

I have always found that it is good to have several large memory cards to
always take large dimension photos. It is quite easy to reduce the size
of a photo for e-mail, but impossible to increase the size of a photo and
have decent clarity...

I believed I used the Sony software two or three time, before I switched
to using a card reader exclusively... Manipulating the photos I now use
the free Gimp software, before that I used Adobe's Photoshop 7, and
before that I used ARC's Photo Studio 2000. All three of these photos
software packages have layer capability that made working under exposed
photos possible... Check out Gimps News group
comp.graphics.apps (dot) gimp

For photo cataloging, and keeping my photos organized I depended upon
Compupic. I never found a reason to upgrade from the standard version of
this software. It does a good job of creating contact sheets/indexes for
presentations, and an amazing job of creating VCD that worked in any DVD
player I attached to my TV... I used a number of different brands and
model DVD players...
