PC motherboards with fake cache chips?
Mark Lloyd wrote:
I remember a lot of ads for "386 cache system", although I don't know anything about "fake cache chips". What would one do? Nothing. It was just a plastic DIP package, with some legs and usually "write-back" printed on it to look good, but no silicon inside, I'm surprised google can't summon up the X-rays that existed at the time proving it. Eventually cache testing programs came along, much like those that can spot counterfeit large USB flash drives, that are really just lying small USB flash drives. |

Health-wise you're best off eating more salad and going for long walks. That's it! Just type "None of my freaking business" or "It's not my life"? You're the one asking for health advice. Do we need so many mobile phones?

A very large number are being used for tasks such as reporting electric power usage from domestic and industrial electricity meters. For that matter the same cellphone connections are being used to turn of power to hot water cylinders at periods of peak demand. Other cellphones are being used for the automatic monitoring of truck and bus fleets. And so it goes. Why do we need so many battery-powered toys? For GLOBAL pollution? Oh well... Neverteless I agree with your sentiment. -- Regards, Eric Stevens |

Fact is, I'm more at risk from background (nuclear) radiation here. We sit on "basement rock", so our background radiation is about twice the average. By contrast, we used to live on the Prairies, where background radiation is about half the average. There's no danger to anyone's health. The observation that there were concentration of some cancers near some power pylons (for example) proves that power pylons are not implicated in the cause9s). If there wy were, there would be fairly uniform distribution of cancer cases all along the line. That is, the number of cancers would be proportional to the local population within, say, a 500m radius of each pylon. That's never been observed. The fact that you don't know this indicates that you need a course in statistics and probability. And you have the reason, the motive and the intention to just don't care about others' health. That assumption is an insult. No. Because you possibly don't have the power to save everyone' health. It's normal to just save yourself first. Calm down... calm down! -- ~ Remain silent!
