ASUS A8N-SLI PREMIUM WILL NOT BOOT UP
Hi all, need help urgently, have just built my first system with the
above motherboard and a SATA 250GB hard disk, Windows XP PRO, the system will not boot, the only way I get it to boot is to disconnect the power, remove the MOBO Battery for a minute, and then reconnect the power supply, and it boots up, however if I select shutdown/restart, the screen shuts down, the computer continues to run, I have to turn off the Computer manually. If I select Shutdown from XP thw screen turns off and the macine shuts down, but if I turn on again, I am back to square 1 and need to disconnect the power and take the battery out, any help advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Shurl |

Start in `Safe Mode` (keep pressing F8 during boot up.) Go have alook at your Event Viewer. See what you find there. |

Cheers Shurl XP SP2? Bios update? when you remove the cmos battery are you going in and making changes and saving the cmos settings? Is the time correct after each 'shutdown'? all devices in the device manager are 'ok'? |
