Today I had to speak with Tech Support Rep whose English was terrible. I
could hardly understand him. He had a heavy Spanish accent and the phone
connection was bad.

Is Dell outsourcing to other countries besides India?

Illegal aliens may be made legal. Basically, they would be rewarded
for breaking the law, and it would increase the number of illegal
aliens across the border attempting to become legal.

People should never be rewarded for breaking the law. Illegal aliens
should be actively sought out and deported.

Yes. On several occasions I have had Spanish speaking support techs.
One area they are being outsourced to is the Philippines (sp).

Dell support for latin america is based in Panama. And by the way,
they don't speak spanish in Philippines.

To answer the question, HP uses call centers in Colombia. So hispanic
call centers aren't unusual.

To be honest the Indian techs are very polite most of the time,
usually much more than American counterparts. It's just they're
incomprehensible.

If you get one that you can't understand, you could ask for someone
else. If it were me I'd say I'm sorry I can't understand due to your
accent, I need to talk to someone else and then call back.

I have found the India techs polite, and if I accept that they are
required to go through the scripts and work with them on that things
tend to go better.

Whenever I say that though my next support call will be a nightmare,
so I just jinxed myself!

There are a lot of deragatory terms going around like "script monkey"
that are not very nice.
