Suggestion to Epson Sent
I sent this to Epson. So far no response from the proper department as
of yet. Maybe others could do the same? "Dear Sirs: There is no question that Epson is a heavy hitter in the inkjet industry. (I am on my 3rd printer:777;c82;r340) Why doesn''t Epson step-up-to-the-plate and lower the cost of their cartridges? They could afford it more than anyone. Being that they use an "ink tank" and permanent head design. This would make a positive statement and boost sales...and have the other guys heads spinning! Sincerely," |

Sincerely," Don't expect an answer until they all recover from the hernia operations you caused them from laughing. Unfortunately, Epson has their customers exactly where they want them: a captive market: you're the captive. And their track record has been to restrain trade (chipping, etc.) and then confirm that restraint with legal action. And since when has sociopathic Mr. Bush done anything to benefit the lives of his constituents, especially when there's a corporation involved? Restraint of trade is unlawful in the USA, but don't expect Republicans to enforce or prosecute. Will Democrats be any less corrupt? I can't say. One thing that might, however, yank Epson's chain (and HP's, Lexmark's, Canon's) will be fierce competition from Kodak. We'll see how it plays out. Meanwhile, let's all refill soon and often with the other guys' ink. This way, the manufacturers lose completely. The only way that capitalism benefits us is when true competition flourishes. We've got to guard and regulate to ensure that the marketplace for capitalism remains fair and level. Right now, we're getting the worst of it. It's time for a change. -- Bubba "When you need a Bubba, here I am. When you need a Bubba like a hole in the head, here I am." |

I suppose every little bit helps, but I have a feeling Epson is well
aware of the general sentiment and the market forces. Besides, they have to try to get back all the money they've spend on proprietary chips and designs to prevent refilling, and the lawyers' fees. ;-) Art wrote: I sent this to Epson.
