Default Master/Slave and cooling

Currently, system has:

CD-RW on Primary controller as, I believe, Master.
No Slave on Primary controller.

ZIP on Secondary controller as, I believe, Slave.
No Master on Secondary controller.

I was thinking of putting both drives on one controller, with CD-RW as
Master and ZIP as Slave.

Removing 1 cable should help air flow, n'est-ce pas?

If so to which controller should they be moved?
And, does it matter in which order they are connected to the cable, if both
are correcly jumpered?

Its unlikely to make any difference in practice.

Doesnt really matter, but its more usual to use the primary.

No, not unless you use cable select jumpering in which
case the order determines the master and slave.

Thanx.

I may do it just to reduce the cables.
Airflow would have to improve, maybe by not much.
