Default 30 Second Video Skip?

Hi all,

I'm trying to refind a link that had a bunch of drivers for ATI and a fix
for the 30 second skip problem whenever you tried to ecnode certain video
fixes. It was from some computer company/news organization website, but
that's all I can remember about it

Also, I noticed that 8.5 has a feature that will not let you record anything
with macrovision. Has there been a way to stop this from happening yet?
This is extremly frustrating when trying to archive things that will never
be on official DVD like the original Star Wars Trilogy( Non Special
Editions)..

Thanks...
