You can purchase a PCI to USB card, that you plug
into a spare slot on your motherboard.
Here`s an example

The USB ports on a computer are permanently attached to the motherboard and
cannot be replaced. You would need to buy a USB PCI card and install that
in one of your computer's open slots at the back.

If it's just the PORT, you can do that with a soldering iron. The
problem is getting a spare.

But ... it's a lot easier to just get a pci card.

If things are shorting together and your computer is crashing, you can
remove the port. Or separate the shorting wires.

That could end up being a pain to get off with a soldering
iron due to the plated holes and the metal shell soldered to
the ground plane. IMO a hot air gun would be much easier
and might make it as easy to cannibalize some ports off an
old retired board rather than hunting one down. I think
Foxconn has a samples program though, they might send a free
sample or there's always digikey catalogs to wade through.
