Yate Loon fan with thermistor - please explain
I stripped some junked PCs, and pulled a Yate Loon D12SH-12 fan from one. It has a thermistor on about 25 cm of wire attached. It has the standard 3-pin connector for case fans. When I search for this model number I find it was a high-flow fan, and see pictures on a few websites (mostly parts vendors) but none of these show the dangling thermistor. So was there a special model of these fans with it's own speed control, perhaps intended for keeping fanless graphics cards in check? |

Or possibly intended for mounting on a CPU heatsink with the thermister attached to that? I've seen several CPU HSFs with 120mm fans. -- Rob |
