A newbie tries to overclock Duron 600 on A7V : me !
Hi,
So I'm a newbie in overclocking, I decided to boost my Duron 600 on A7V. I first connected L1 bridges on the chip with a pencil as indicated I first tried jumperfree, so JEN 2-3 , DSW switches all off, CPU core voltage all 3-4. Frequency multiplier is not available in bios so OK I set it manually with DSFID switches. x6.5 boots I set bus freq to 105 MHz, results in kernel panic. I guess the RAM did not followed the frequency ... ok back to 100MHz I now tried 7x multiplier - box don't boot anymore, neither with 7.5x ans so on I have read somewhere jumperfree is not working well, I then try manually. I stay with 100MHz bus freq, setting multiplier to 7x. Don't boot I try raising the cpu core voltage incrmentally ... not better At this point I wonder if I did not miss something important to do ... do you have any idea ? Thanks in advance |

I first connected L1 bridges on the chip with a pencil as indicated Using a pencil is not the best method, and may be your problems. While I got one to work with it for a while, it later failed. Redoing it with conductive paint got it unlocked again. I could easily get 800MHz out of my 600 Duron. It would top out at about 950MHz. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.html |

0.5mm pencil usually works fine, just go back over the bridges several
times. My Duron 600 did 936mhz on my A7V @ 1.85v. "F.o.x.T.r.o.T" wrote in message ... Hi, So I'm a newbie in overclocking, I decided to boost my Duron 600 on A7V.
