PSU Question
I just bought a new PSU but when I checked the connections along side the
current one I noticed a two pin connector with one blue cable and one white/red striped cable connecting from the PSU to the m/board. This new PSU doesn't have this. Just wondering what this cable is doing, I have to return the PSU that arrived anyway as it was damaged but I'm just wondering if this cable is controlling the fan or something, any ideas? I have an Athlon XP 1800+ @ 1.53 GHz, couldn't tell you m/board make as its a Compaq PC, was really annoyed that it came with a 200W PSU (how cheeky is that). Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. - xonics |

It's a fan sensor so the mobo can tell you how fast it's spinning. Some PSUs
even have controlled rpm through these hookups. "xonics" wrote in message ...
