Default BenQ 5224P Headache! Please help.

I have a 5224P, it worked fine at all speeds in my system, I transfered it
over to my sisters PC recently and it has been nothing but trouble, it can't
record reliably above 12x! sometimes 24x is OK in easy cd5 but in Nero
anything above 12x results in a successful burn BUT unreadable files.

Also an ISO/Multisession disk basically NEVER passes a file verify, unless
its a CDRW.

I have updated it to latest firmware.

Hardware changes made so far:
Changed power supply, remove cdrom.
Changed motherboard from Asus Nforce 1 to Syntax Via KT266a board.
Changed RAM, Clean windows Install several times, Windows XP with and
without SP1.

Currently has KUC level firmware.

Even tried relocating the PC in case it's some problem with the case
vibrating! he he he. Also rebuilt system in previous more solid case.

All to no avail!

Well over to you!
Any ideas?

Good one. Isn't that rather a lot of work to get a burner going? Must
be the floppy drive or video card since that's all that's left. Maybe
the BenQ got bounced a bit in travel and something mechanical got
messed up. For $20 you can usually get a decent burner these days
(well, with a rebate). Try that.

He he, good suggestion, the floppy is about the only part NOT changed so
far, the VGA has been done already.

I think I might just get a new drive, need to rip this one out and try it
back on my system again.
