Acer 1703SM : HDD goes in save power mode without beeing asked ???
Every 10 or 15s of inactivity, the HDD goes in power save mode....
This cause a wait stat of 1 or 2s every time it as to wakeup and a strange sound (3 clicks) from the internal HP... XP ACPI options are set to never stop, but the HDD is certainly driven by the BIOS ??? The issue is that the BIOS doesn't have any power saving control ... Do, some of you, have the same issue ? What did you do to solve it ? Regards Claude

I own a 1703 and also have exact same problem, and i find it very annoying.
Somebody must have a solution out there!, or does anybody know of a phoenix bios editor so that the power options can be enabled in the bios? mick. "ZORG54" wrote in message ...
