Default Sony DRU-510a issues under Windows xp

I get 7 coasters out of 10 when when burning either DVD-R or DVD+R discs. I
use a P 1.4, running Windows xp. But when this Sony burner runs OK under
Windows 98se / WinMe it works fine. I use Millenium +, Bulkpak +, Sky +/-,
Princo -... DVD media.

There is usually no problem with rewritable stuff. I've tried everything,
latest firmware 1.1a, different PCs, getting the same result, Windows XP -
loads of coasters; Windows 98se / WinMe - everything OK.

Can anybody give me a clue about this?

Best regards,

Joe
