Help- hp cd-writer 9700
Does anyone know how to solve the Burner Plus error:
"An underrun error occurred. This means the computer could not keep up with the driver's demand for data. Try again at a slower speed". My cd-writer used to burn at speeds up to 12x, now for some unknown reason, I have to burn at really slow speeds, i.e 2x. Thanks R |

The error message is reporting the reason. You have a data bottleneck. This
may be something as simple as a hard disc that requires defragging, or you may have lost the dma setting for the writer. -- Graham Mayor R wrote: Does anyone know how to solve the Burner Plus error: "An underrun error occurred. Thanks, I will try defragging and see what happens. By the way, what is "dma"? Thanks Robert Graham Mayor wrote: The error message is reporting the reason. You have a data bottleneck. Literally direct memory access. It is the way the drive communicates with
the PC. Check the advanced properties of the IDE controller the writer is connected to and see if DMA access is in use. If not and you are unable to activate it, see http://www.gmayor.com/cd_writer_udma_mode.htm -- Graham Mayor R wrote: Graham -- Thanks, I will try defragging and see what happens.
