Default Upgrade to an EasyNote ED1 in the UK

Hi
I'm thinking about upgrading the 2 x 256 Mb RAM 7 the 40 Gb HDD on
this elderly laptop. Nowhere can I find what the motherboard will
take.
Any ideas please?

Also, to replace the HDD will mean the loss of the recovery partition.
As the PB notebooks don't come with the original Windows XP Home disks
& PB don't supply replacements for machines over 3 years old does
anyone know if Microsoft will help?

Thanks

David

You can find significant information by downloading Sandra sisoft.
If you enter your seral number at ---http://support.packardbell.com/
uk/---
hopefully the link will open more information.

As far as migrating information to a new hardrive.
I would buy a couple of 3.5 to 2.5 IDE converter from ebay for a few
dollars.
You can install your new and old Hd in a desktop then migrate the
information using the software
provided by the manufacturer.
This should migrate all partitions including the restore partition.
If this software is lacking than download a free copy of Acronis TRUE
Image.

You should have been given or have attached the serial number for your
Windows version on
the laptop.
Borrow a OS CD and use your information .
This is not illegal.

Now if you need specialized drivers .
They can be found at PB.

By the way is that the correct name of Laptop ED1.
