Default Help! - Datawindow to zebra printer

I have a datawindow with 'Arial' text and a barcode '3 of 9 Barcode'.
I print to a Zebra 220 XiIII Plus printer using a Seagull Zebra ZPL
Driver version 6.6.2
There is a pause of 9 seconds between each label.

If I download the fonts to the Zebra printer there is no pause.
But if I turn the printer off I have to download the fonts all over
again.

I have saved the fonts to flash, but when the printer is switched off
the 'alias' name for the font is lost and the labels are garbled until
I download the fonts again.

Using different versions of drivers has no effect.

Does anyone have any more ideas for troubleshooting?

thanks!

Tim
