Default HP Omnibook vt6200 crashes with external Harddrive

Hi,

when i firstly connected an externel Harddrive via USB to my
Omnibookvt6200 the system just halted (I'm using WInXP prof.)

So after changing some usb drivers ... i got it workin'

But now i have another error, if i try to copy some files, the pc
always crashes after copying about 50 % on the USB drive.

Anybody got any ideas?
I always tried to use an PCMCIA USB 2.0 Card.
