Default P4 2.6GHz w/ Hyper-Threading vs. P M 1.5GHz

Hello all,

I'm trying to decide between two laptops. One had a Pentium 4 2.6GHz with
Hyper-Threading Technology (and a 15.1 inch screen) and the other has a
Pentium M 1.5GHz (and a 15.4 inch wide screen).

If I'm trying to compare speed/performance what would the 1.5GHz Pentium M
translate into if you were comparing to the equivalent in a Pentium 4 with
Hyper-Threading?

The unit with the 15.4 wide screen and the Pentium M 1.5GHz is a little more
expensive so I wanted to see what you guys thought in terms of performance.

Thanks in advance...

Unless it's a 2.66 (and not just a 2.6) GHz P4, it's a desktop processor in
a notebook case. There is a 2.66 GHz mobile P4 that supports
hyperthreading, but the 2.6/800 is the only other one close to it that does,
and that's a desktop unit.

Battery life with a Pentium-M will outpace either the desktop P4 or mobile
P4. The Pentium-M also runs cooler.

In terms of speed, they should be pretty evenly matched despite the clock
speed deficit of the Pentium-M.
