what's the reason everyone is saying ooh god i'm doom and i can't tell
why... maybe they just don't want the little icon in the task bar???

It is bloated, uses more memory than the good old CP and does not add
any useful functionality AFAICS. I just like to run my PC lean and
mean g.

Why not getting a bigger cpu?

That's like getting a bigger car 'cos you are getting fat, instead of
going on a diet, and just as stupid.

You're not, Ted. That takes you to *one* package with both driver and
CP *combined*. I prefer *separate* files.

During installation with that *ONE* CP package, use custom, pick what you
want to install.

IIRC, the last time I tried the combo package, I did not have the
option to have a CP icon on my desktop and did not have the option to
decide where to install the CP files.

Unless that has changes, I'm still a separate files man.

Are you seriously this lazy? Why don't you download the
driver and find out for yourself? There is an option to put a CP
icon on the desktop, and where to install the files.

You have a bright future, flipping ****ing hamburgers.

Avoided it until now but thought it was time I tried it. So far so good,
maybe they ironed out the kinks. Page file use is the same as it was
before, I do have 1.5GB of PC3200 RAM tho'

Hmm, maybe they have but the one and only time I tried the CCC drivers
my pagefile usage was up by about 75-100mb. Hard to believe that the
CCC would cause that but that was my observation. I have 1gb of DDR.

Curious,

Did it do that only when you ran CCC to make changes or does it run ALL the
time?

If it's only a resource hog when running the application then I fail to see
how this is a big deal.

Well guys you can always simply use the drivers by themselves.

I installed the CCC drivers and they appear to work OK. I don't

what all the fuss is with CCC.

I don't know bud. I don't see what all the fuss is about. CCC Works for me
and FarCry is a lot smoother to boot.
