Default keyboard probems

hi,
on my gateway mx 6025 a few of the keys suddenly stopped working a few
days ago, namely 3, 4, 8, 9, i, f, h, - and = (i'm using the on-screen
keyboard right now). i tried a new keyboard, but it is still the same.
any ideas ow this could be resolved?

thanks

Try removing the battery and the AC for a few seconds and reconnect and
try again. I would also try running on the battery only too and then
again on AC only without the battery installed. And even stranger, try
reseating the memory. And when you say you tried another keyboard, was
it an external one plugged into the USB port?

BillW50 - thanks for your answer, but unfortunately all that didn't help
either.
the keyboard i tried was a replacement of the original one, i will try
an external one today.
