Your computer does not have ACPI, it has APM for power management.

I don't remember the exact steps, but go into the Power applet in Control
Panel. There should be an APM tab. On that should be a check box you have
to check. It might not be there, might be in System. I'm doing this from
memory as I don't want to wake up my 11 year old and the Presario that has
this is in her room.
