USB Printer Problem with system reboot

I have an HP psc 2410 Photosmart All in One printer which works
perfectly. The problem I am having is when I reboot my computer I have
to unplug the USB for the printer in order for my system to boot
completely. Any ideas on how to keep this from happening? Its a pain to
climb in the floor and unplug the printer each time I need to reboot my
machine......

Disable booting from USB in the computer BIOS.

There are many and varied reasons for this. You have not provided
enough data to narrow down the reason why this occurs. Maybe something
here can help you.

Why not unplug the cable from the printer instead of the computer?

2-way USB switch, found mine on eBay, useful for using the same
USB wireless adapter on 2 machines, one downloading whilst
you can do work on the other, sharing printers, sharing USB
backup drives.
If you have more than 1 machine KVM switches are also useful.
