Further Cooling Questions about Dual-Core Cooling
Hi Again,
As you probably know I am adding extra cooling to my Dual-Core PC setup, I have bought a series of 80mm, 90mm and 120mm fans but these come with the standard 4 pin connectors (normally used for hard-drives etc). I have seen an adaptor cable which will allow this type of fan to be connected to the 3 pin plug on the motherboard and will allow a number of fans to be added to this one connector. So how many fans can safely be run from the connector on the motherboard and how will software such as SpeedFan which reports fan speeds react? Thanks Graham |

Thanks Graham The motherboard fan connectors consist of a pin-out for the tachometer and this means one fan per header. Use the 4-pin power connectors from the PSU for these fans with the 4 pins. It should be possible to daisy- chain 2 or 3 per connection using Y-adapters. |
