Default SSD mounting question

Hi, all: I want to upgrade the drive on a Dell Optiplex 980 Mini Tower
Intel® CoreT i7 Quad Core Processor 870 with
VT (2.93GHz, 8M) running Windows 7 Professional. I have in mind a Samsung
850 EVO 120GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD. The SSD will be a boot drive.
The size is totally adequate as I have never had a C: drive more than 100GB
and all of my computers work fine.

My question has to do with the mounting of the SSD in the Optiplex 980MT HDD
bay. In searching the Internet I find suggestions that use cable ties,
Velcro, various kind of tape or just leave it dangle in the bay. I am
thinking of something more neat like an actual caddy. The adapters I find
mostly move the smaller SDD to the center making the power and data
connections partially covered by the caddy. One adapter I found, Sabrent
2.5" SSD (BK-PCBS), looks like it would do what I want.

I will appreciate any suggestions on this project and thank you in
advance.-- Dean

Get an adapter to mount a 2.5" SSD (or laptop hard drive) in a 3.5" frame. Should be able to find these for cheap on eBay or Amazon, or even TMart... Ben Myers

Default SSD mounting question

I upgraded my C drive with a SSD and initially left it hanging since
accessing the drive bays required moving several cables. It weights
almost nothing, and that worked fine. When I was sure that everything
was good, I installed it in an adapter and then into the drive bay.
You can get the adapters almost anywhere, including Amazon. I ordered
it with the drive, so it was just a matter of getting a round tuit.
