Default After burning..unable to open file?

Win98se
Nero burning..v6.3.03

Saved some apps' (folders) to CD using above, but if I try to access a
file (*.exe) in a folder I receive an error:
"Cannot open file :
It does not appear to be a valid archive..if you downloaded this file
then try downloading again"

If I go to that same file still on my h/d I have no problem accessing
it etc.

Not all files burnt behave like this though!!

Any help appreciated please.

TIA

Is there any pattern to the problem? In particular, are they the
executables?

Note that the message indicates that the .exe is an archive. Now, it
might be - a self-extracting Zip or equivalent. But if it's supposed to
be a conventional executable, you have a substantial problem.

Since the message doesn't appear to stop you from copying the file to
the HDD, why not do that, then explore it for interesting properties.

Then get back to us with what you've learned. Perhaps it will help us do
more than say: too many errors; try another medium.
