Can't eject CD-R after viewing it in a folder window
I don't know whether my question belongs with this group or a Windows XP =
group, but here goes. I'm using Win XP Pro. I want to see the contents of a data CD that I = have mastered using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5. I put it in the CD = reader-writer (Samsung CD-R SW-224B) and wait a few seconds. An Autoplay = dialog box appears onscreen with a progress bar. A folder window then = opens showing the contents of the disc. Everything looks good, and I can = see and open any file or folder I want. I'm done, so I close the folder = window. I want to remove the CD so I press the Eject button on the CD = tray. Nothing happens. I press the button repeatedly. Nothing happens. I = open a My Computer window. I right-click on the CD icon and click on = Eject. Nothing happens. I repeat this many times. Nothing happens! In = frustration I reboot the CD and press the Eject button. The CD tray = opens and I can now remove the CD. This whole scenario is repeatable. = Bottom line: I can never get a CD out unless I reboot the computer.=20 Can anyone tell me why this is happening, and how to get the CD player = to release its hold on a CD without having to reboot the PC? Thank you. Frank |
