Default Dos boot disk does not see hard drive

Got 2 hard drives. C(NTFS,p. master). D(fat32,s. master).

I can't access C from a dos boot disk. no surprise there. but i can not
access the d drive either.

the only thing i can think of is that the drive(8gig) is not seen
properly by the bios. it sees the size but not cylinders, etc.

i can access the drive though in windows.

ideas?

DOS does not have the ability to read NTFS or FAT32 partitions, has nothing to do with the drive itself.

Depends on the DOS version. MS-DOS 6.22 (the last stand alone version) does
not know about FAT32 drives. It could be you're using a Win98 or ME boot
disk on one machine, which has a later version of DOS that does know about
FAT32.

There is no version of DOS that knows about NTFS.

There is a driver that will read NTFS. And the paid for version will
write it. Problem is I can't remember where I downloaded it from.
