Clicking Sound From Hard Drive

Hello All,

I installed a new hard drive in my Dell notebook last week end. As well I
did a clean install of XP Pro. Everything runs OK but I keep hearing a
clicking sound coming from within the notebook which can only be the hard
drive. This can happen when the computer is idle.
The other drive didn't do this, and I don't think that it's a faulty drive
so is there something is the XP setup that could be causing this?

Constant clicking, clicking when you (or the OS) starts to access the
drive, or a click like it just went into power management mode?

Some drives, when they spin down to sleep mode, will have a more
pronounced "click" to the head as it goes back to home position. Does the
drive make the same sound when you power off the system?
