My main concern is HEAT.... last time... this was a major problem.
Eventually it was solved with low heat
components and also, which is very important. HEAT DETECTORS and FORCED
SHUTDOWN of system when OVERHEAT threatens to occur.

So my first question is basically this:

What motherboards are out there for Skylake processors which have
OVERHEAT DETECTION and OVERHEAT PROTECTION ?

(Currently my winfast motherboard can shutdown the PC during overheat...
which is GREAT, it keeps my PC healthy/functioning).
(Usually overheat will occur during GAMING and/or when cpu heatsink full
of dust).

My secondary cause of concern is VIRUSSES... HACKS/TROJANS/SPYWARE at
the BIOS LEVEL... EUFI level or whatever it's called nowadays.

Apperently these LOW LEVEL systems are NOT SAFE... and NSA is hacking
into computers.

Same with SSD cards.. ALSO A MAJOR CONCERN.

I don't like the idea of my new PC getting hacked or other misschief
happening.

I'd like to have a BIG ASS harddisk(). Total space at least 10 Terrabytes.

Potentially 20 TB... so I can dump game after game after game after on it.

Or dev studio after dev studio on it.

Maybe even 30 TB... or 32 TB to keep it a nice 2^power number

I have payed attention on www.tweakers.nl for new cases sometimes.

I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY CASE... which I would consider better than ANTEC 1200.

That case already many years old... can anybody truel say they have come
across a better case ?

I like the harddisks to be pointing with their connectors at the back..
towards the motherboard..

I don't like side-way placements for whatever reason... don't like it...
doesn't feel good.

Perhaps it's an airflow direction thing... perhaps sideway placement
might be bad for cooling.

I think that might be true... the backend of harddisks get hot... the
power connector.

I do like to have some glass window on the CPU and GPU to keep an eye
out on FAN rotation for safety purposes.

DDR4 seems wise.... new faster memory.. maybe somewhat expensive still
but nice for feature.

I am not sure about the "gpu-embedded" versions of skylake...

Perhaps a many-core skylake processor would better fit my needs....

I can have as much as 50 internet explorer windows open or even more..
sometimes maybe 100.

And many folders open...

I do believe multi-core will be better than an embedded gpu.... but not
entirely sure...

What is your experience with "multi-core" versus "embeded gpu in cpu" ?

Which processor works better for browsing ?

I am also not sure if multi-core skylake processor are an option for me.

There seem to be 20-core, 18-core, 24-core processors coming...

Those are probably way to hot.... server chips...

However is there anything in between ?

8-core ? 16 core ? 10 core ?

I will certainly not be happy with just 4 cores.

Way too little.

Even 8 cores... seems somewhat old nowadays... especially since 4 cores
can already have 4 hyper-cores.

I also want to have a slightly better system.. than those 4 + 4 hyper
core systems... just for kicks

But I am gonna put my foot down... 4 real cores... simply not enough...
seen the enormous ammount of time that has passed since 2006.

2 back then. Almost 10 years gone by... so 2^3 = 8.

2x8 = 16 cores should be available nowadays.

Something around 16 cores... might make me happy.

I have seen that the core frequency has gone up from 2.0 ghz... to 3.5
or 4.0 ghz... so that's kinda nice...

I might have to subtract that from this number...

So maybe 8-core system with double frequency... still somewhat
acceptable...

Though I would also like this system... to last for 2 years maybe this
time... maybe a little bit longer 3 years... but not 10 years anymore...

I'd like to buy a new computer... after this one... pretty soon as
well... to try and benefit from architectural changes or new
instructions or whatever the future may hold.

My budget for this computer is somewhat uncertain... it will not be 6000
euro's like last time... or even 7k.. that pretty insane...

This time... I might cut it in half... 3000 euros...

Though... I did make some extra bucks on a side track lol... so
additional funds are available...

I kinda like my monitor... but I think it's a good idea.. to buy
EVERYTHING new.... just to make sure I have a good decent backup computer.

Then again... this old 24 inch monitor... might take up some space on my
desk. (Hp L2335)

Maybe there are better monitors available nowadays... with less
specles... diffraction filter... more clearity maybe...

Not sure yet if I want a 8k monitor... but having more space on the
screen... sure sounds like a cool/nice deal for me...

I may have to walk into a computer store... that sells these... to get
some idea what this is... or maybe review it on the internet...

More screen space seems welcome... then I could run 1024x768... side by
side... maybe even multiple that be cool.

Problem with 8k is big tax on the GPU thing...

I may be willing to give airflow for gpu another try... especially sine
nowdays I have a maid running around.. cleaning my house a bit.. me
helping...

so maybe the dust problem will be less....

GPU will have to contain as much RAM as possible.. for multi tasking
purposes... not truely required... but would be cool.

Main RAM should be stuff completely full with RAM as well... so the more
the merry. RAM kinda cheap nowadays last thing I heard... so good idea
to stack up...

however... DDR4 might be expensive

Dont 'like to be inside the PC too much... risk of damage.. so stuffing
it full seems a good way to go... thought slightly more expensive
maybe.. I don't think it will matter much
waiting for better DDR4 chips... so might as well go for it... soon enough.

Time scale for designing this new PC: a few months or so... until
skylake processor comes out... or in case I don't like... for example
too little cores... then I might look for something else.

The black case thing might be getting old... might it's time for a nice
shiney white one...... no more dark "niggas" on my desktop lol... back
to "snowwhites" =D lol.

Neh... color don't matter that much... but the silver black thing...
getting a bit old... white might look too much like a mac... but I think
white could be nice... if it a bit shiney maybe...

Though perhaps white might distract more... than black... during gaming...

black kinda falls away to background.

I REALLY like blue.

I didn't use my DVD device much... I do use SD card reader for my cannon
camera...

Must have an SD card reader in it.

I kinda still like to have a floppy card reader in it... I know that
sounds weird... but it's for compatibility with my old computers... and
maybe bios updating or something.

Though I don't like bios updating... still didn't update my winfast
motherboard... so it stuck in 3GB mode... too risky to update it...
can't afford it to go dead on me

Aircooling is nice... easier to replace stuff... however... water
cooling or heat pipe cooling might also be looked at... but shouldn't be
too expensive...

So in short:

Let me know if you came by nice and interesting components lately.. that
you think might work well in other people's near future computers...

Or if you have something you looking out for... like beta hardware or
something that may came out soon...

Or reviews/links/information of current stuff available.

Case should be made of steel.. for maximum precision... plenty of
room/airflow... can be a medium or big tower.

Power usage can be between 200 watts to 600 watts... I'd prefer if it
was a bit lower... might be better in case I want to run secondary stuff.

Perhaps I will end up with two computers (old and new) which can draw as
much as 1200 power... so might become an issue for power cables and such..

Receiver is 600 to 700 watts... so that might go over the "power/watt"
budget of electrical grid/power cable... it's exceptable to turn off
receiver if both computers need to be on...

However... blow outs of power supplies and such rather not have that...

All must be of good quality... and safe quality.

I may also be in the market for a new audio system... but probably
not... the only reason could be to safe on watts... or to use it in case
of dual system usage...

Current audio system might be taken up too much watts... not sure about
that. I had a blow out once... but maybe that was a bad power supply or
weird electrical thing going on... like in ghostbusters it happens

The only piece of hardware I currently LUV to death is my X-FI Elite Pro
Soundblaster 7.1

It will probably be hard to replace... hardware-wise, connector-wise,
quality-wise, and especially software-wise...

I am really fund of it's interface... and crystalizer and such...

I know there are good new cards out there.. but 7.1 ? hmmm...

Also very few 7.1 systems out there nowdays it seems... but with
profesional gear... like receivers... it's possible to build your own.

That reminds me...

I might also be in the market for a new SUBWoofer... I don't have a
subwoofer... the last one GigaWorks S750... blew out/went kaputt...

Subwoofers can be heavy... so don't really bother with it... if you know
a really nice sounding subwoofer... that sounds like the one from
GigaWorks S750... let me know !

^ HAHA I know... weird/hardware requirement... but it sounded great ? I
think ?.... I don't want to turn into some RAVING lunatic... with some
Techno beat subwoofer...

It should match the rest of the Gigaworks titanium speakers... and it's
mostly ment to add some nice sound to music... and gaming weapons and
such... it should be subtly... and not overrule everything...

it should be warm and deep... and not take too much space preferably...
though I could also function as a table... though maybe that not a good
idea because of vibrations .

I may also have to order a new modem from my ISP... cause the old one is
kinda old... and adapter overheating sometimes... that reminds me I have
to get new adapter too..

but maybe it cannot grow in speed soon... or might not have IPv6
capabilities... it definetly does not have multi-computer support... so
that might be a good reason to ask my ISP to send me a new one...
so I can use both computers... it's a bit of a risk though... not sure
how good there new ones are... some new kind with wireless signals...
which may be health or interference risk.. or spy risk.

Which brings me to last point:

I still need a good printer which can last for a loooong time... without
being used... somehow my mother or family mentioned to kill off the HP
printer/scanner/copy device all in one... shame really... it was a nice
device... but it wouldn't power up anymore...
It was brought to the waste disposal facility... pretty insane.. .but my
mother argued... repairing would cost more... than buying a new one...
I don't need to print a lot... just very rarely... but if I do have a
new one... I might start using it a lot more... for "hard copies". I
don't really want one with expensive inkt... or inkt that could dry up..
it can got hot in here... or warm... maybe a cheap laser printer is
possible ?
laser/toner... slightly worse for health... but I have nice ventilation
so that be ok, otherwise forget printer.

I could go for a tiny little ipad like device... tablet... in case I
need to go somewhere... but it would have to be tiny... to fit into my
pocket... I kinda like paper though... at least it can't suddenly fail
or run out of power or whatever... so printer is still to be preferred
somewhat for safety/reliability reasons... though tablets have their own
advantages... maybe I will get both.. for redundancy.

So this can get costly... time for some budget estimation:

new harddisks:
32 terrabyte: 4x8 tb = 4x200 = 800 euros.

new memory:
64 GB of RAM: 4x16 GB = 4x125? = 500 euros.

new processor:
16 cores: 220 euros. (dual/two processors could be interesting too).

new case: 150 euro

new monitor: 800 euro (500 if 24 inch, 800 if 8k)

new keyboard: 40 euro

new mouse: 40 euro

new power supply: 150 euro

new graphics card: 300 euro.

new sd card reader: 25 euro

new ssd system: 100 euro.

perhaps new audio card: 125 euro.

new subwoofer: 80 euro

new printer: 80 euro

new tablet: 100 euro.

oh I see I forgot something haha...

new motherboard: 150 euro.

It should have a least one network adapter... preferably two, build in
audio/gpu not required, definetly must have overheat protection.

So let's sum this up and see what I get... these are just estimations...
and numbers I would be willing to pay for it.

800 + 500 + 220 + 150 + 800 + 40 + 40 + 150 + 300 + 25 + 100 + 125 + 80
+ 80 + 100 + 150

This time I will try to ask for a discount... if I buy it from one
source to try and cut back/save some money

Total price of all this new hardwa 3660 euro.

Pfew... that's well within my budget range... with some room to spare
perhaps...

Now if these prices are realistic... remains to be seen !

Want a bit of safety from hackers,etc?
Running Win2K or less (maybe even Win98SE), with SeaMonkey 2.0 (i
think for that) and ****y Insipid Exasperation *RIPPED OUT*.
Download data,whatever to a separate hard drive; do NOT use
MacAffee,do NOT use Norton, absolutely *REFUSE* all f*ing toolbars and
"speedup" crap.
Clamwin should work, online VirusTotal might work, The TrendMicro
online may not work as it has been "upgraded".
Strangely, the older the OS is, the less a hacker "wants" to fiddle
because they are busy puking and will go to more "sexy" systems.

That separate data only HD i mentioned can be common to as many OSes
as you want (one OS at a time,tho).
I use the Kingwin removable HS kits for all hard drives,and use
PartMagic to CLONE a working drive to a spare for backup purposes.
If the master goes down, it can be unplugged and the copy/backup
plugged in and running as fast as it takes for the OS to boot up for use.
No useless ISO bullcrap fiddle.

With the faster/"modern" OS, do what you want, but PHYSICALLY keep
the internet connection disconnected; no impossible for malware / hacker
problems.
