Default Mac wireless keyboard and mouse

Recently, I purchased a wireless keyboard & mouse (model A1015) and
USB hub for Mac G4 Tower. When the computer goes into sleep mode, I
have to unplug and replug the source to the USB in order to bring the
display back. In order to reactivate the mouse and keyboard, however,
I have to restart the computer using the restart button. Any ideas?
Thanks.
