Customer Reviews - Novatech
Posted a mildly critical review of Novatech's Special Offer 15" TFT monitor
on their customer review page a week or so ago. Surprise, surprise (!) it has not appeared. In fact, as far as I can see on their site, all the reviews look as though they have been (in some cases badly!) written by either their own staff or their PR company. Don't know if this is industry standard now - certainly Ebuyer used to leave very critical reviews (which could be helpful) on their site. Novatech used to be a good company with keen prices who dealt fairly with their customers. They've got bigger and so have their prices. Don't know about their customer services as I haven't had to return anything for a while but they don't inspire confidence! T |

There will clearly be some 'choosing' of customer reviews - even for practical purposes of displaying them all maybe. But, post your mildly critical review here - If it contains criticism of the firm then its probably rightly ignored, if it fairly directs a potential buyer to a lack of quality/performance in general then that would be a different matter. If it was a 'dont buy this product' type of thing, then thats again, rightly ignored. Ebuyer took some slack a while ago in this regard and now seem to post all (or nearly all) reviews. Some are absolute ****e posted by rank amateurs with the IQ of a lobotomised chimp with learning difficulties - As for the other poster on this thread, then the customer support is quite correct - shop elsewhere if you don't like the service. At the end of the day, Novatech have a right to reject anything anyone sends. g. |

My mistake (probably) was to compare it unfavourably with my 18 month old AOC TFT monitor which is, IMHO, vastly better. Presumably Novatech don't sell AOC monitors :-)) T |

"Tx2" wrote in message t... In article , , a.k.a tanker says... Don't know about their customer services as I haven't had to return anything for a while but they don't inspire confidence! Their customer services are ****, IMO. The After Sales 'manager' wrote to me to inform me (after i'd sent a letter of complaint over a service related issue) that it might be best i didn't shop their again if i felt their service was "so bad". Subsequently, i will be doing exactly as she suggested. I have used Novatech frequently as their prices are usually far cheaper than PC World's and they are located quite near where I live. I must say I have always found the (youngish) staff very helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. The showroom/shop attached to their warehouse is modern, and has recently been doubled in size. The shop is always busy and has a loyal local following, having been based in this area since (?) the 1980s: this is definitely not a cowboy/back-of-a-lorry type operation. "Tx2" seems to have had a bad experience in his dealings with an After Sales Manger, but without knowing the circumstances, it is quite possible that this was simply down to one or two individuals having an off day (who doesn't). I would certainly recommend Novatech - and no, I am not connected with them! |

I would certainly recommend Novatech - and no, I am not connected with them! I live locally as well and first used Novatech when they were at Dundas Spur(?) - must have been 1995/96. On the few occasions in the past that I've spoken to Novatech staff, they've certainly seemed more knowledgeable than PC World staff - but then I've known inanimate objects that know more than PC World employees! Nowadays I tend only to buy stuff from them if I need it straightaway and can't get if from Refreshcomputers at Purbrook who are (generally) a good bit cheaper but carry a limited range and less stock. If I am in no hurry, I use Ebuyer, who can be anything from 10 to30% cheaper than Novatech. So far, I've had no problems with Ebuyer - perhaps I've just been lucky ;-) T |
