Default sims 2 crash on gforce 6500

Hello,

Everytime I play Sims2 my computer crashes. Afther playing a wile the
computer just shutsdown.
Windows XP mediacenter crashreport advises to use the lates videocard
drivers, wich I use, or to lower hardwareexelaration. I've tried that,
but it doesn't work.
Help please.

greetings

Which card? Can we have a system specification please. Can you monitor
your temps under load?

Could be (in no particular order and with other possibilities), Direct X
file issue (use DXDIAG to check files are ok and test video),
overheating (quite likely these days), motherboard chipset drivers,
BIOS settings issue, hardware conflict, clash with another
process/background task running in Windows, bug in game (Sims 2 has
patches available)

Generic advice to use latest drivers is not always appropriate. Some
driver releases will work better on a certain rig than others and it can
be tricky to find out which.
