Right.
I'm planning to upgrade - my current PC is 4 years old and exhibiting
behavioural problems.

I'd like to just be able to order the main bits (M/Board, CPU, Case, etc)
and get them assembled and sent on to me - (For various reasons, I don't
want to fiddle about doing it myself...)

Anyone recommend any online vendors that offer this sort of service?

You might be better off going to a traditional computer shop (not PC World)
on the High Street - those are the sort of people who are likely to manage
this.

Cheers

I looked into this a while ago and there was only one contender,
especially as I know they have excellent CS;
http://www.cclonline.com/product-cat...category_id=81 .

Would not hesitate to use them again and again.

They are unlikely to have the range of components that a big
operation, like CCL, would have at their disposal.

Why? Most buy their bits in from the large internet retailers so should
be able to get exactly what is specced.

not really, you get a choice of 3 things prob:

diy
get a local person/company to sort it for you
buy a pc from a big brand name

Many online vendors offer this service. IIRC, I narrowed my choice
down to 4.

Try http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/cc.aspx?bn=10306 I've used them for
bits only but am happy with prices, delivery & service.

I used Aria in Jan '05. A few problems but I was very satisfied with
the way they were sorted out. My understanding (NOT personal
knowledge) is that they are so good now though.

Regards,
vj

Ta guys for all your responses - I eventually just did it myself (Reason I
was looking at having it built by someone else is because of lack of time).
Got all the bits from a variety of places in the end - Ebuyer, Tekheads
(Have they changed ownership? Used to be run by some bloke called Sam who
used to post here years ago.), overclockers (Not very impressed - took a
while to dispatch, and unfortunately when they did finally dispatch they hit
a postal strike that has delayed it even further!), svp and even (Shudder)
PC-World (The case I wanted was there for a good price - order online and
pick up).

I initially ordered m/board & video card from a place called "xcase" -
www.xcase.co.uk.

After about 5 days of inactivity on the order, and two e-mails, they finally
dropped me a line to say the m/b wasn't in stock... would I like to cancel
or change the m/board. Won't be using them again! [I had everything else
ready and waiting, as well].

Also required a cable to convert IEEE socket to ten pin front panel header -
managed to find one at a place called Cable City.
