Default Keypress cancels drag and drop

I recently purchased a Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard
and Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 bundle. My problem is when I
use drag and drop, as soon as I press any key on the keyboard it's as
though I let go of the mouse button. This is especially agravating
when trying to use "ctrl" and/or "shift" to copy, move, create
shortcuts. If I plug in a wired keyboard drag and drop operations
work normally. My only thought is the keyboard is interfering with
the mouse signal even though the transceiver is supposed to be
dual-band to support both devices at once. Has anyone else run into
this problem?

Obviously it won't solve your problem directly, but if you do a right-click
drag-and-drop then you'll get a menu of move, copy and create shortcut.

HTH.

Thanks that's a good work around for the issue related to move/copy. I
used that example to describe the problem as efficiently as possible.
The place where the problem is the most detrimental is in games. This
bahavior causes some very undesired results in first person shooters
where you are navigating with the keyboard but need to click and hold
for a time. I've submitted a ticket to MS, maybe their techs have some
ideas as well.
