Something just accured to me. Is your motherboard an LX chipset? If so,
could be the agp slot can't supply enough current to run the video card. It
was a common problem back in that day.

Move the sound card. Try to get it onto IRQ5. I don't think the error

download a driver cleaner from ATI's website.

I've done that already with the ATI cleaner. I will try to move the
sound card.

Could that be the problem? Here is what I saw:

[IRQs]

IRQ Number Device
11 NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
11 Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373) (WDM)

It's been years since I dealt with IRQ issues but yeah having the

sound
card and video card on the same IRQ could cause problems. If you have

the
sound card next to the video card, move it; if possible, leave the

slot
next to the AGP open. Either way, force one to use a different IRQ.

Rubbish, it just doesn't matter, well as long as you are using Win2k or
WinXP you could have 4 on the same IRQ.

It's a Pentium 2 400 (4x100). And LX mobos only went up to 83 MHz FSB, max
(and not always very reliably...). This means it's most likely a...

Now after hearing which game it is, my help ends here. Sorry, this is
personal, I know the family (Ethel's a clam who thinks she's too good to pay
local contractors, but Rose was a sweetheart, and no matter what anyone says
about Teddy, his heart is in the right place and he's done much more for his
state than a certain presidential candidate ever did), and this game's
developers cashing in on one of the darker moments of American history is
nothing but deplorable. What's next, Martin Luther King Reloaded? "Shoot
Honest Abe's Stovepipe, Win the Booby Prize"? "New! Assume the Role of
Chemical Ali as you see how many Kurds you can Gas before America
invades!---it's Sarinator!" How about playing the role of Hitler as you see
how many Russians and Jews you can slaughter, with bonus flesh lampshades
per million snuffed? Or play Sharon and send the Israeli Army to go "Refugee
Hunt"! You too can be Lynndie England in "Rummy's Prison Fun House" with the
"American War Criminals" expansion pack, with a bonus soundtrack including
the tune: "Holiday in Guantanamo" (remake of Dead Kennedys "Holiday in
Cambodia")! GTA is bad enough. This is so ****ing tasteless it makes me
want to boycott someone. Rot in hell, douche bags...

LX? I don't know. Does this help:

Operating System System Model
Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4 (build 2195)
Gateway G6-400
System Serial Number: 00
Chassis Serial Number:
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
400 megahertz Intel Pentium II
32 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: Intel
Corporation WS440BX AA719570-206
Serial Number: ISWS90401710
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Intel Corp. 4W4SB0X0.15A.0006.P04 10/09/98

Here is what I have on my computer (From Gateway)

http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERB...m0040212.shtml

The guys at the computer store told me that they GeForce FX5200 I
bought would clock down to 2x, so they said my computer could handle
it. Also, the problem existed before I got this card. Then I had an
older Vodoo Banshee.

Your thoughts?

Well, Nerd Max is correct. The PII 400 is a 100 mhz fsb cpu, so you don't
have an LX chipset board. Most likely a BX chipset.
