firmware/drivers
I know that firmware controls cd drives. But then drivers control cd
drives. My question is 'What is the difference between firware and drivers'? Thanks Andy -- All responses to the newsgroup please |

Firmware is the software within the drive that provides its functionality -
and stored in flash memory in the drive itself. Drivers are the means by which the operating system communicates with that firmware and stored on the PC. -- Graham Mayor Andy wrote: I know that firmware controls cd drives.
