WOOOOHHHHHHH Mind blowing nice =D It's been known for decades. Indeed, it's similar to the scenario on communications satellites when the charged solar wind builds up a static charge on the surface of the satellite which results in some of the on-board electronics switching off or on when it arcs over. A right pain in the butt that has been known since the early days of satellites (40+ years)! Long _before_ satellites. |

Possibly new problem discovered with air cooling: Static electricity build up.
"Skybuck Flying" wrote in message b.home.nl... Hello, Meeeee, Skybuck, has possibly discovered a new problem with air cooling for electronics: Static electricty could build up... because the wind is rubbing it's electrons against the materials, like plastics and so on. Static electricty could build up at which at a certain point it might jump over to electronics and cause damage ?!? Some links explaining how static electricity works: http://www.livescience.com/environme...ectricity.html Is this a known problem with air cooling for electronics, or has Skybuck discovered a new problem/limitation to air cooling electronics ? ! WOOOOHHHHHHH Mind blowing nice =D Bye, Skybuck John Galt had a static motor up and running his life's day to day. as far as I know he still uses static electricity to power his motor. Maybe you could harness the cooling fan static electricity ? I know ! Every once in a while stick your finger in the fan to degauss it. this isn't rocket surgery. ** no fate ** dracman Tomb Raider: Shotgun City http://www.smokeypoint.com/tomb.htm My game machines: http://www.smokeypoint.com/My_PC.htm Zebby (the machete) NE Huntress / Aja Nightstalker cat (bite, prowl) http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...%27jin&n=Zebby Marksmanship solo PVE 17/34/10 -------------------------------- Aliase Hume Rogue http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...27jin&n=Aliase Subtlety solo PVE 5/22/34 WoW ingame pictures in a smoke free environment: http://www.smokeypoint.com/if_airport/telaar.html http://www.smokeypoint.com/if_airport/IF_airport.htm http://www.smokeypoint.org/wow/worldofwarcraft1.html ----------------------------------------- http://thottbot.com/?c=hunter http://thottbot.com/?c=rogue http://thottbot.com/?t=Engineering ----------------------------------------- .................................................. ...............
