Default Microsoft massive price rises

Anyone been hit by the huge price rises on XP?

For some reason ( i was fobbed off that it was due to the fall in the
dollar, even though they are manufactured in ireland) winxp pro academic
upgrade (a good path for many people, unaware that they are entitled to it
if they have children at school etc) has increased in price hugely, from
about £39 + vat to about £60 + vat.....

Have not seen any posts about this!!!
