Hence, you're the perfered Intel customer. Many low end PC P4 system
came with SD-RAM, they quite making these a long time ago. SD-RAM is
SLOW P3 Class memory as I stated before. The P4 sloppy memory access
requires LOTS of bandwidth to get any speed. (A 1.4Ghz AMD with
SD-RAM would be the same or a little faster)

DDR / RD-RAM on the P4 is required.

Your SD-RAM pc is slooooow.... but hey, it could be worse.... A
Celeron 2.8Ghz....

and i play a lot of games with my comp, that have high graphic intensity,
seems like my computer crunches pretty good numbers -- i dont see any
problems with any game ive tried

Youre used to your old tech... you ASKED if you were out of date.
YOu have a GF2 type card (GF4mx 440se is only an updated GF2)

Since I went from GF2 GF3, I've never had such an old-type of card
and that was 3 years ago.

The visuals on your system don't compare to a modern system with a
GF-5900 or ATI 9800.

look at these screen shots:

heres what i got:
intel p4 2.0 gigahurtz processor
1GB SD RAM
128MB DDR Nvidia GF4 Mx440 SE
Soyo P4IS2 Mobo
60 GB Western Digital HD 7200 rpms
CD RW 48*16*48
DVD RW/ROM 48*4*48

It was slow when you bought it. A P4 with SD-RAM is hight crippled.

For using the NET - its fine....

For playing games.... ugh.

Swap out the board, RAM and CPU.

512mb of DDR would easily be faster than your 1GB of P3- era RAM.

$200~240 could get you into a decent Mobo (ASUS or MSI) with an AMD
2500~2800 CPU with 512mb of 333 or 400mhz DDR RAM.
Then put in a video card, at least a 5700Ultra - but for about the
same price - the 5900xt would be better. ($170)

It depends how you define "fine"....

My friend showed me Far Cry, as I never saw it before... on his PC.
It ran FINE on his Ti4200 (A nice card) - it looked good and played
good. When Far Cry is playing on my machine, it looks and plays a
lot better. As in a recent post... I have compared FarCry on two of
my systems.

My 5900(plain) doesn't touch my ATI 9800Pro (there is a $20 difference
between the 5900xr and 9800Pro) when playing FarCry... and on a
5600Ultra on a friends computer... ugh. He was down to 800x600 with
MED detail - and his CPU is faster (AMD 2400) than my 5900 on an AMD
2000. Keep in mind, Far cry treats a Ti4200 different than a
5600~5900.

At this point... if your games are running fine... wait for the 6600
or X600 cards.... but they maybe the same price/power as the 5900/9800
cards of today.

Remember: In the USA - it is dangeroud to draw or write about Heir Bush in a negative way. The police or SS are called, people threaten to kill you. (What country is this again?)

- 15yr old boy in Washington was disciplined for drawing such images.
- White House blows cover of an undercover agent because her husband said there were no WMD (before the USA started the war) - her job was finding terrorist. (This makes sense?)

God bless the land of the free. Where you can burn the Constitution... Ashcroft does it every day.
