He may be referring to these;

http://www.popclone.com/leakedx800bench/

Which could be real or fake.

for most of them it's preety close, and considering that the 6800 should
be out first i think that it's going to do well, better than last generation

Only it won't be out first. X800 Pro's are in the shops this week.

I think your guess is right. For most things they'll be close. For any
specific game or benchmark that shows one far better than the other, it will
come down to how much effort the developer put into tuning for one vs the
other, and how well the driver was optimized for that game or benchmark.

So in the end, it will be who has the best driver and developer support for a
specific game or application.

Dunno....it's kinda ****ed up. I was a set to buy the 6800 Ultra, now Ati
have the advantage in AA/AF @ 1600x1200.

Which is what i want to play games at, Nvidia in a panic then releases the
6850 Ultra with a 450Mhz core clock, obiviously then were in a huff and need
to get more fps out.

I've always been an Nvidia man, but with Half Life 2 and Doom III
approaching i need raw power.

Guess i'll save now for the Ati card. :-(

Definately. There are the first batch of reviews that came out this week,
which will help you decide who's AA you like best, I'm sure there will be
more in the future. That's one thing I'm interested in as well, who's AA
looks best.

But the other thing is HL2 and Doom3. Personally, I'm waiting for Doom3.
What I want to know is what CPU and Video card will be best for it. So I've
got some waiting to do. Who knows, maybe PCI-Express will be out by the
time HL2 or Doom3 come out. Anyways, it gives us more time to save up money.

Intel/ATI? Intel/Nvidia?? AMD/ATI? AMD/Nvidia? I'm sort of expecting Doom
3 might be slightly faster on Intel/Nvidia, simply because in previous games
ID's code has seemed to favour that combination, initially. Then after 6-8
months the vid card makers come out with their "refresh" cards that tweak
performance in certain games. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how
an AMD / ATI platform runs as well. It could be faster for all we know. But
even if it's a bit slower, it could be significantly cheaper (unless Intel
decides to undercut AMDs pricing again) and quieter, cooler running. The
combination of a lower power and cooler running CPU and video will be better
for people who are building small form factor or quiet PCs. I wouldn't mind
dropping a few FPS in exchange for a quieter, cheaper system.

www.anandtech.com

And as usual, ATI looses in OPenGL. But all cards are good from both
companies... But the ATI uses far less power and space.

Remember: In the USA - it is illegal to draw or write about Heir Bush in a negative way. The police or SS are called.

15yr old boy in Washington was disciplined for drawing such images.

God bless the land of the free. Where you can burn the Constitution... Ashcroft does it every day.
