Dave wrote:
Is there a chart which shows approximately when the different models of Duron and Athlon processors were released? I can't find anything like this on the AMD site. Umm yeah its on the site under the specific CPU. under Product information, on the left there is "Processor Roadmap" http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...18_608,00.html |

I always wondered by my Sinclair Z80 (colour) seems as good as a modern computer. I wonder how much a Z80 cpu is these days, last I heard was a £1 but they may have a rareity value now. -- eel Tech http://someguy456.computed.net/ |

Of course the average gif banner on a web page is considerably larger than the memory a Z80 can address (without paging hardware). I wonder how much a Z80 cpu is these days, last I heard was a £1 but they may have a rareity value now. Z80s are comming back in afor microcontroller use. You can get practically a whole system for a couple of quid. its a Z80 based CPU with DACs memory, the whole works on a single chip. One thing about the Z80 was that is was a doddle to write good code for it. |

I think the Z80 cpu is still being made in some numbers. I know Zilog do the eZ80 chip now... http://www.zilog.com/products/family.asp?fam=218 And there are quite a few different versions of the Z80 cpu as well. Mind you, the Z80 in the Spectrum was different to the one used in the Gameboy/Colour I think. http://www.zilog.com/products/businessline.asp?bl=274 Mind you, the only place I found someone selling Z80 chips is in this ebay auction. Following link is not my auction. I thought it be good to show how much people are willing to put a bid in right now for those old cpu's http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...76974&category =50423 Not sure of the buyit now price since it got a bid but seems that at the moment its going for £4 for 10 of them. But yeah, they're not really that available unless you have to contact Zilog about if they still sell those chips. Not really called for unless they're used in white good appliances now such as washing machines and fridges..... Gone are the days when they were in calculators, computers, handheld consoles and ran arcade machines in the 80's. - -- Skipai Da Otter Remove 'fishbones' to email me. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 7.0.3 for non-commercial use http://www.pgp.com iQA/AwUBQH5ab5xl8H7mp9nsEQLP/wCg/TMDdBfj1throXdG2SN6luaJuiwAn3MU NoCKm2shVZw148c9K2Az0i2m =jXQg -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Try he http://www.mikeshardware.co.uk Click on the "CPU Prices" link on the left side. You can also see how the prices of the each processor fell as newer models were introduced. Jeff |

Their everywhere and full of features. The new ones have built-in ethernet. Honeywell makes good ones too, from what I hear. |
