Help req: burning software that saves local catalog?
I have searched forever to find a piece of software that does what I am
looking for and I am hoping maybe someone here knows more than I. (most likely...) I am looking for a CD backup burner that burns specified files to CD and then saves the directory locally so I can browse through old backups without having to load the CD. 1. It would be nice if it saved contents of .txt and .diz files locally. 2. It would also be nice if it read mp3 headers and zip contents. 3. I would prefer it have the ability to catalog older disks and add them to it's database for CD that I already have. 4. It definitely needs to write the files to disk "as-is" not in some proprietary backup format. Is there anything out there like this? Is there a good website to check? I have spent hours browsing through nonags, tucows, fileforum, cnet and haven't found exactly what I am hoping for. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

May not be exactly what you want, but worth looking at: http://www.whereisit-soft.com/ |
