Default USB hub

Hi all,

Recently bought a Belkin 4 port USB hub which was working fine untill I
tried to connect my USB TV card (pinnacle) which I had not properly
installed. The entire hub failed to work and I had to shut down my computer.
Since then the hub has not worked despite removing it from the device
manager and re-installing it (code 10 message, 'your hardware was not
installed properly and may not work'). I have removed and re-installed all
the software relating to my peripherals. I have downloaded all the XP
updates from MS as well as a patch that is supposed to solve this problem. I
am chasing up Belkin to see what they say but I wondered if anyone had
encountered/solved this problem before?
(Computer = Toshiba laptop, P4 2.4MHz, Win XP pro, 1GB RAM)

Thanks,

Andrew

I already had a problem with a Belkin product that never worked at all: a USB network interface that
allows you to connect 2 computers in network using the USB port. It never worked.

Will it work on another PC? What happens if you reinstall windows
(unfortunately, sometimes it is neccesary to reinstall windows no matter if
you want it or not)

Just wanted to add to this discussion the fact that I have the same
problem with the Belkin 4-Port USB hub that I have recently purchased.
And that I have tried it on a Sony Vaio Picturebook running Win2k
Prof and then on a Sony Vaio Desktop running XP. I had exactly the
same problem on both, namely: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
Plus I have re-installed Win2k on the picturebook with which changed
nothing.
