Default XP 2500 to XP 3000 - Heatsink and Fan upgrade?

Hello People

I'm intending to upgrade my Athlon XP 2500+ Barton to a XP 3000+ Barton.
Will the existing heatsink and fan (Official AMD supplied with the CPU)
installed with the 2500 still be suficient?

Thanks

yes, but if it currently uses the original, factory-applied thermal
interface material then clean it off and apply a fresh coat of thermal
compound.

You did not say whether you purchased the Processor yet or not. I
would just get the full Retail Drive and use the new Cooler. I have a
Full Retail version of the XP2800 and it came with its own cooler. I
think the Cooler works just fine. The cooler did not come with a pad.
It came with pre-applied Thermal Paste.
