Default well bummers,

Just tried to run Cdex and its complaining about not finding ASPI driver

Reinstalled a fresh download of CDex, same result,

Found the Install package for ASPI drivers thingy.

doesnt install,

Ok change the aspi_v471.exe to aspi_v471.zip and peek inside the download

there be files there, there even be x64 files.

[DOCS]
[include]
apix46.vx_
aspi2k.sy_
aspi32.sy_
aspi64.sys
aspichk.exe
aspiinst.exe
aspixp.sys
install.bat
readme.txt
REG_XP.EXE
RELNOTES.DOC
winaspi.dl_
wnaspi2k.dl_
wnaspi32.dl_
wnaspi46.dl_
wnaspi64.dl_
wnaspi64.dll
wnaspixp.dll
wowpost.ex_

Installer still poops out

I read all the doc type files, best I can figur from them is try a
command prompt command line install

Ok read upon trying a command line install to specify the x64.

Nope, that balks too, says its looking for the compressed version of the
uncompressed file in the installer package. What The Hockey Puck???

Got the Installer from the Adaptec site, that acts the same way.

Might the lack of these files explain why my PC looses the DVD drive
every now and then too?

Did Manage to run the aspichk.exe utility and it says nothing ASPI is
installed.

PC still running windows XP X64.
